About Veritas Athletic Performance
What makes
Veritas Athletic Performance
Different?
Coach Matt Erdman trains athletes to help them become more successful in their sport, not just in training. It does you no good to be a weight room hero but fail on the field or court. Our training transfers over to all sports by taking a well-rounded approach to reducing injuries and improving athleticism through proper movement, coordination, speed, agility, strength, and power.
Athletes will be met where they are, and given specific programming and coaching to help them smash their goals and to keep them reaching higher. Nothing fancy, just simple and consistent work of doing the simple things incredibly well.
Our name says it all as to what we are about. Veritas is Latin for “Truth”. Training and athletics is where the truth is found out about what athletes can actually do, making talk a cheap commodity. Truth is also where Coach Erdman and his family put their faith (John 14:6). Let’s find out the truth about what you are capable of doing, come join us at Veritas Athletic Performance to elevate your performance.
About Coach Matt Erdman
Coach Erdman has been training youth, high school, and amateur athletes in Northern Colorado since 2015. He has coached at three different high schools over this time, and has helped numerous athletes reach their goal of playing or competing at the next level. As a former Division I football player, and growing up watching Nebraska Football, athletics has been part of his life since a young age. In addition to his years of coaching experience, Coach Erdman holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS, TSAC-F), EXOS (XPS), and BioForce.
While the training takes a simple approach, Coach Erdman strives to continue his education to continue to find the best ways to improve athletic performance for his athletes. The training is based on scientific principles of progressive overload and specificity to the athlete and performance. Sprinting is also an integral part of the training programs at Veritas Athletic Performance. The majority of athletes need to sprint and change direction in some fashion to be successful in their sport. Not only does learning how to sprint help athletes to become faster, it also helps increase strength grain and power production, so sprinting and strength/power go hand in hand.
Before Coach Erdman started Veritas Athletic Performance, he spent 14 years as a Police Officer in Northern Colorado. He served as a field trainer, defensive tactics coach, and training officer for the majority of his career. Coach Erdman has been married to his wife Tara since 2008 (who was a collegiate gymnast for her career), and they have four incredibly active children who will make appearances in the facility from time to time (Wyatt, Mason, Ryder, Callie).
